Silvio Berlusconi: renowned former Italian prime-minister, celebrated billionaire and the self-proclaimed ‘Jesus Christ of politics.’ But perhaps, that’s just one side to his story... Performed at the Southwark Playhouse, ‘Berlusconi’ is a pop-rock musical communicating to audiences the affects this political leader has had on those close to him in addition to the affects he has caused among the global masses. However, beyond the topic of the property mogul himself, this is a piece of theatre about power. How it’s gained, how it’s misused, how it’s taken advantage of and the devastating consequences of it. Who knew a casual stroll down a Cornish beach, could lead to a shark sighting? ‘After Shark,’ is a part of The Greater Manchester Fringe line-up this year. Children get themselves into a bucketload of trouble these days. Yet can we blame them? After all, their loving, nurturing, “responsible” parents seem to do even worse... “God of Carnage” follows Alain and Anette Reile and Veronique and Michel Vallon (two seemingly happy, married couples) as they meet to attempt resolving a scuffle between their sons. We watch as their demeanours fade from respectable and polite to reckless and crude to a point where the situation at hand is forgotten and replaced with, well to say the least: Carnage. Lydia – Greater Manchester Fringe

She’s capable, skilled, eloquent. Without a doubt Lydia will go places in life. In that case why does she never reach her destination? ‘Lydia’ is an auditory gem in which we hear us our protagonist growing up solely through the voices around her. On paper everything seems like it will work out, her family has high aspirations, and she has the skills to accomplish it all. However, as her life steadily journeys downhill, we realise that some things do not stand the test of time and soon will become forgotten. The entire world the audience perceives is built up with soundscapes, voice acting and special effects. This leaves us entirely immersed through every segment and trial faced. Fruit Salad – GM Fringe Online

Cherry and Peaches, two fruits which wonderfully complement each other. Or perhaps Cherry and Peaches, the two friends who at first glance don’t seem remotely similar but at the core have a unity that’s imperishable. Or at least that’s what we thought... Fruit Salad follows a friendship that formed over their fruity names and fruity nature. We watch as the two meet up from their late teens to early twenties to catch up over cheap wine in their favourite pub. Soon enough they both move to different universities, make new friends, fall in love with new people and ultimately see one another less.
