Liverpool Everyman Welcomes All to Celebrate its Anniversaries with Open House

To mark Liverpool Everyman Theatre’s 60th birthday and the new award-winning building turning 10, on Saturday 23rd March the theatre will open its doors, inviting audiences to join free Backstage tours, Q&A sessions, and family-friendly activities across the building.     The day will begin with the unveiling of the Frederick Douglass plaque, a permanent installation designed by Liverpool-born artist Vicki Opomu, to commemorate and honour Douglass's legacy. Following the unveiling, people will be able to discover parts of the theatre that are usually closed off to the general public, including visiting the wardrobe and other backstage areas as well as accessing the auditorium from the stage. The legendary Everyman rock n roll panto is back for 2022 and this year we’re telling the tale of Red Riding Hood from Friday 25th November 2022 to Saturday 14th January 2023. You might think you know the story of Red Riding Hood, but this is the tale Everyman style! There will be outlandish and sparkling costumes, plenty of plot twists and surprises, and full to the brim with musical hits performed by a company of supremely talented actor musicians. An exciting new co-production, massive visiting shows, comedians and one night shows form part of the Liverpool Playhouse’s 2021-22 season, as the theatre returns to a busy schedule of live performance. Artistic Director, Gemma Bodinetz announces departure from Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse After 17 years as Artistic Director of the Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse theatres (E&P), Gemma Bodinetz today announced she will step down later this year. During her successful tenure she helped contribute to Liverpool’s European Capital of Culture, built a Stirling Prize winning theatre for the city, produced a great deal of wonderful theatre including directing many productions that have delighted audiences here and across the UK.
