Juno and the Paycock – Gielgud Theatre

Juno and the Paycock is widely regarded as Sean O'Caseys's theatrical masterpiece. Set during the Irish Civil War in 1922 the first act starts almost as a melodrama with " Captain" Jack Boyle( Mark Rylance) and his dissolute companion "Joxer" Daly (Paul Hilton) indulging in drunken excess and an attempting to avoid all forms of work while dodging the wrath of Juno Boyle (J.Smith-Cameron), the redoubtable female head of the household. The impoverished family’s fortunes seem to take a dramatic turn for the better when they are informed that Jack Boyle has received a large inheritance from a relative. The Crucible – Gielgud Theatre

The National Theatre’s version of The Crucible is a play that is not to be missed. Both new audiences and fans of the original Arthur Miller play will enjoy. This talented cast use every moment to create drama and suspense and keep the audience entertained. The Crucible has recently transferred to the Gielgud Theatre after a successful run at the National Theatre last year. The show uses Arthur Miller’s original script under the direction of Lyndsey Turner. The story follows the town of Salem as they start to accuse the women of witchcraft. Singing is used throughout the play to add dramatic suspense. The Mirror and the Light is set for the West End this year

Producers Playful Productions and the Royal Shakespeare Company have announced that the third and final novel in the Wolf Hall trilogy, The Mirror and the Light has been adapted for the West End stage. The world premiere will run at the Gielgud Theatre from Thursday 23rd September for a strictly limited season until Sunday 28th November, with an Opening Night on Wednesday 6th October.
