Bonnie & Clyde – Knutsford Little Theatre

Tonight was my first visit to both Knutsford Little Theatre and Together For Theatre Productions to witness their latest offering Bonnie & Clyde. This is a musical rarely performed by amateur societies as it is tough to stage with the story moving so fast from one location to another and the underscore not allowing much wriggle room. The story of Bonnie & Clyde needs little explanation, bad boy meets good girl, and good girl turns bad due to the blindness of love. It doesn’t end well for our lead actors as is highlighted at the very start of the show. Together For Theatre have had no issues attracting a stellar cast to perform this gem of a musical which should be performed so much more. Evita – Buxton Opera House

There’s always a warm welcome at the beautiful Buxton Opera House, and their current amateur production of Evita delivered a spellbinding theatrical experience that left Friday night’s sold-out audience captivated from start to finish. The production boasted an extraordinary amateur cast whose performances breathed new life into the iconic characters. Catherine Pugh’s portrayal of Eva Perón was a tour de force, displaying a remarkable range of emotion and commanding the stage with her presence. Opposite her, Ross Clifton delivered a powerful performance as Juan Perón, capturing the character’s authority and complexity with finesse. A Show With No Name – Woodford War Memorial Community Centre

A musical theatre show is always a must in the calendar of a theatre lover, and after a warm welcome at the door, the audience were in for a treat. The Company put together a very well thought out programme of musical favourites, but also included some less well known but equally deserving songs. The staging was kept simple which kept the showing flowing, and cast changes were sleek and went without a hitch. The show began with ‘A Million Dreams’ sang by David Lambert and Gilly Thompson with wonderful support from the ensemble, this was an easily recognizable winner to begin with.
