This musical makes you finally realise what Frankie goes to Hollywood has been singing about, the power of love. Passion, tears and heartbreak were left on that stage on Tuesday night, truly a sensational story about the afterlife of modern day Sam Wheat played by John St Clair, alongside his living soulmate Molly Jenson (Rebekah Lowings).Their love affair takes a terrifying turn splitting them apart, but Sam’s soul lingers and the love continues, the performance was remarkable in portraying the passion between the pair despite his death. Ghost the Musical – Liverpool Empire

Based on the 1990 film starring Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore, and Whoopi Goldberg, Bill Kenwright Ltd has brought the musical back to life with a UK tour, and this week it is at the Liverpool Empire. Ghost focuses on a banker, Sam Wheat, who is murdered on his way home from his girlfriend, Molly’s, art exhibition and seeks the help of psychic reader, Oda Mae Brown, to help him save Molly and release him from the transitional world he is currently trapped in. Ghost the Musical started its life back at the Manchester Opera House in 2011, but the show has come a long way since then, and due to artistic changes and budget cuts, this is a vastly different show to what it once was. Production images released for brand new Ghost the Musical UK tour

Bill Kenwright Ltd has release the production images for the globally acclaimed Ghost the Musical. Which began its tour on 22nd August 2024 at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre ahead of a major national tour continuing into 2025. It stars Rebekah Lowings (The Sound of Music) and Jacqui Dubois (People, Places and Things) reprising their iconic roles, having previously captivated audiences as Molly Jenson and Oda Mae Brown respectively. Ghost The Musical – Aylesbury Waterside Theatre

The stunning Aylesbury Waterside Theatre last night hosted the opening night of the latest UK tour of Ghost the Musical which extends into 2025. This musical will forever be judged against the original production which began in Manchester in 2011. Sadly, in today’s climate it will never be possible to tour this show in that original format due to the ever-rising costs and the logistical complexities the show displayed. In this production, slightly updated from its last tour the set serves its purpose but no more and audiences need to accept that. Cinderella – Hull New Theatre

I don’t know what panto favourite, Neil Hurst, had eaten before taking to the Hull New Theatre stage on Sunday evening, but whatever it was had really oiled his make-‘em-laugh muscles - he was in top comedic form. As Buttons, in the age-old favourite, Cinderella, Hurst was on stage for most of the evening, delighting what looked like a sell-out theatre, from curtain up. And what a curtain! Featuring just one word - the panto’s title - dripping in glitter, bedazzling and making us impatient for what was to come, as did the images swirling around the walls and ceiling.
