I don’t know what I was expecting walking into an all-female Pride and Prejudice, but I left with ready for a complete re-write of literature and Isobel McArthur to lead the revolution. The energy, commitment, enjoyment they had to be there was streamed through this theatre, it felt like a gift to witness. Isobel McArthur, writer and performer was commissioned to write a stage production of Pride and Prejudice for Tron Theatre four years ago after having never read the book. HOTLINE – A new play by phone

HOTLINE is a new kind of theatre for a world in the midst of a pandemic where isolation is imposed, and theatres are closed. It is a playful adaptation of the first phone call to the moon with a mission to bring ‘peace and tranquillity to the earth’ using the intimacy of a phone call. Your host is Oxmo, played by Hannah Jarrett-Scott. LAPS (Ladies As Pimps) Cass Ezeji & Alicia Matthews play the All Powerful Moon Bitch, the moon herself. Commissioned by Tron Theatre and devised by Produced Moon, Meghan Tyler and Nima Séne, HOTLINE is a new play inspired by the legendary conversation from the White House to the moon between Richard Nixon, Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong. HOTLINE is accessed by individuals dialling in from their phones, and like a game, lets them choose how the story continues.
