Disney’s beloved Olivier Award-winning stage musical Beauty and the Beast is to be re-imagined and re-designed in a completely new production staged by the original award-winning creative team and will open a UK & Ireland Tour in May 2021. Love Letters set to Open at Theatre Royal, Haymarket

Just eighteen hours after the end of the UK’s current lockdown, Bill Kenwright presents MARTIN SHAW and JENNY SEAGROVE in A.R. GURNEY’s Love Letters, directed by ROY MARSDEN, at the Theatre Royal Haymarket. The play will open on 3rd December 2020, the first day after the Prime Minister has decreed that lockdown ends. This production of Love Letters was previewed at Theatre Royal, Windsor as part of its five-week, five-day, five-play season. THE PLAY Love Letters first opened in New York in 1989 and was a finalist in the 1990 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. English Touring Theatre Announces Phoenix by Mike Bartlett

New Mike Bartlett audio-drama read by Bertie Carvel in rapid response to the present moment, marking the beginning of a new lockdown. ETT (English Touring Theatre) announces Phoenix, an audio drama written by Mike Bartlett and read by Bertie Carvel, Olivier Award winners, who previously collaborated on the BBC’s Doctor Foster. Oldham Coliseum to remain dark until early 2021

In order to safeguard the future of Oldham Coliseum Theatre and our vital role in the communities of Oldham and Greater Manchester, it is with heavy hearts that we announce that the Coliseum will remain closed to the public until early 2021. The Coliseum was less than two weeks from reopening with a season of Covid-secure, socially distanced events when the Government announced that a further UK lockdown would commence from Thursday 5 November. We do not know for certain whether theatres will be permitted to reopen on Wednesday 2 December, what the Tier system will mean for the Coliseum, or if - as reported - the national lockdown is extended beyond that date. Casting announced for A Christmas Carol at Leeds Playhouse

Leeds Playhouse have announced the cast for their festive show A Christmas Carol which was a hit in the pop-up theatre created when they closed down for a multi-million pound refurbishment. This time audiences in the Quarry Theatre will be transported back to a traditional Victorian theatre where spectral performers have been patiently waiting for a chance to share a familiar adventure. Jack Lord, last seen at the Playhouse in Oliver Twist, will lead the cast as the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge who finds redemption after a night from hell.
