That was – An unexpected rollercoaster of emotions, with joyous high points. An absolute master of observational comedy who is not scared to get down in the mud with his audience and let them in on the tough stuff as well as the funny stuff. Oh!…. Very funny indeed!
Despite stiff competition from 2020 and 2021, 2022 was a total evil b*stard for Byrne. Pause, Pause, Stop! But 2023 is shaping up now, tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow, and you can be sure that Ed is always going to come out swinging, this guy ain’t going down without a fight!
Men want information, women want emotion. Men want information, women want emotion. Remember that Ed.
The mirror that is severely cracked but still intact and still reflecting.
You can be sure that Byrne micro-managed that right down to the RAL colours! His current state of being.
As he flounces onto the stage, he could not be described as sprightly but with his dark locks bouncing like the fore edge of a hair tsunami, you might be forgiven for thinking that Byrne has the look of a man on a high, assured of his place in the pantheon of humour greats, and ready to surf off into the sunset, swag bag over his shoulder, cragged good looks drawing gasps of awe and yearning from the younger women in the audience. Ready for the centre court at Wimbledon perhaps. No moon face here, McIntire!
But In truth Byrne is just a man like you and me (not you darling!) with an ADHD-induced attention to detail and a fascination for the absurdity of life. Ready to analyse the hell out of just about anything – health and safety issues at the heart of Charlie and the Chocolate factory and the scientific improbability of the Everlasting Gobstopper (a parting gift from his brother), the problems associated with the Irish goodbye, (which is not even a thing!) or how COVID started.
