Peppa Pig’s Big Family Show has arrived at The Lowry and delivers an utterly delightful, joy-filled theatrical treat for the whole family to enjoy. This charming live production captures everything that makes Peppa Pig so loved; the warmth of family life, fun adventures, and plenty of surprises, my little ones were hooked throughout and loved every moment.
The story follows Peppa and her family as they prepare for the most exciting moment yet: welcoming Baby Evie to the world, a new character making her live stage debut that had the audience buzzing with excitement. From start to finish, the show is full of heart, bringing everyday moments to life in ways that feel magical and relatable for small children, some of which it’s their first experience of live theatre.
The cast work so hard in this production, breathing energy, humour, and joy into every scene. Cinem Gopaul shines as both Daisy and George Pig, bringing playful sparkle and charm to his performances. Emma Hilts delights as Peppa Pig, perfectly capturing her cheeky, adventurous spirit, while David Tudor steals smiles in his multi-role turns as Daddy Pig, Mr Bull, and Danny Dog. Charlie Culkin is wonderfully expressive as Mummy Pig and Suzy Sheep, bringing warmth and fun to his characters.
Visually, this production is perfect for children; colourful sets, oversized props like giant cars and beds, and lively musical numbers create a high energy world that instantly captivates young imaginations. Tap dancing and other spirited choreography add layers of excitement, keeping the pace lively and ensuring there’s always something new to discover on stage, the little ones never getting bored.
I love how interactive this production is, the performers cleverly engage with the audience and it was clear from the delighted faces, giggles, and enthusiastic participation that the kids in attendance absolutely loved every moment — from the gentle storytelling to the spirited group sing-alongs.
Peppa Pig’s Big Family Show is not just the perfect family trip to the theatre, it’s also a heartwarming celebration of family, imagination, and live theatre, a perfect first introduction to the stage for little ones.
Verdict: A joyous family adventure that had kids and adults alike, smiling from start to finish.
