After All These Years, written by Giles Cole and co-produced with actor and director, Graham Pountney, is a bittersweet comedy about the passing of time, memory, love and last chances, and won the Outstanding Theatre Award in the 2023 Brighton Fringe. Close Quarter Productions together with Take Note Theatre Ltd and Theatre Reviva! in association with Julia Holofcener of Holofcener Ltd are delighted to bring this brand-new production to the Tabard Theatre in Chiswick, London, from the 7th to 24th February.
This amusing and poignant production is brought to life by a brilliant cast:
Real-life married couple Jeffrey Holland and Judy Buxton play married couple Alfred and Joanie, with Carol Ball and Graham Pountney playing Marianne and Charlie.
Relationships can be a delicate balance of hope, desire, memory, regret and much more besides, especially when two former showbiz couples think they know all there is to know about each other. But what secrets are quietly waiting for their cue to change the course of these couples’ lives forever?
Writer Giles Cole said: “This play was enormous fun to write and takes a gently comedic look at relationship difficulties in older life when things are supposed to be calm and well settled. Audiences loved the play when it aired at the Brighton Fringe in 2023 to great reviews – come and see it for yourself!”
Director Graham Pountney adds: “A fresh cast from the original 2021 production are bringing a wonderful skilfulness and comic quality to the beauty of this piece – and an effortless contrast to the moments of surprise and pathos that shock and entertain our audiences. It’s wonderful to be onstage with them – and a delight directing this highly entertaining play!”
Jeffrey Holland said: “I am so looking forward to reviving my role as Alf in “After All These Years” by Giles Cole at the wonderful Theatre at the Tabard in Chiswick! A joy of a play in a joy of a space! See you there from the 7th to 24th February!”
